... has anyone here had fun mocking about with Guitar Hero at all?

My son got the latest version yesterday "GH World Tour", and in this version you can actually play most tracks as a bass player, i.e. Bass Hero lol wtf? so anyway... if you have been playing covers with the real thing, and you know the bass parts to most of these songs it's kind of a good practicing tool, in what regardless of actual playing notes which as you know is achieved by pressing 5 coloured buttons, if anything it really helps you nailing the "tempo" and if you detach your mind from the fact that you are playing a plastic toy guitar, you realize this thing can help improve your coordination (that is assumed you actually play it on expert where every note must be hit right or you fail it) Yeah I know it's a game but you give it a try and see what I mean.

We have had many "house parties" where got our mom's and grannys to try it while pisshhed out of their heads (drunk) and we've all such a blast watching them

10/10 from me haha! :)

Now "everyone" can play guitar and bass - how exciting!!

Just a matter of time before they all want to get the "real" thing, and that's where MM guitars and Marshall amps come - oh yeah!!!!:)

Well for one thing as you proceed in the game you can buy Ernie Ball Strings!!! So there already is subtle advertizing in there and very clever too

Cheers

Very cool game! to be honest it should be something every guitarist has because once you start playing it inspires you to jump on your real axe and jam along with it! Not that just looking at a MM dosn't do that in itself ;)

I've yet to play any of them, but Frequency which was the first of its kind was genious and addicting.

I see why so many people are addicted to it, which is good. That means less competiton on the real guitar!
And I'm pretty terrible at this game, ha ha. My fingers always head towards the real frets, and that isn't the case with these games.
