It did it with the ernie ball strings that came on the bass, and with the warwick black label strings that are on it now, no difference.

Is there a ground polarity switch on your amp? Not that I think it would matter but ya know flipping switches is fun. :)

... I get the worst static ... I've never encountered anything like this, when I removed the pickgaurd, and even slightly run my finger across it, you can hear it crackling with static, please help!!!

If this doesn't work, try buying a lottery ticket and holding the pickguard high up in the air while standing in the middle of a golf course during a thunderstorm :p

Seriously, the Zerostat works, I use one with the vinyl audiophile records in my ancient 33 1/3 LP collection, and I ain't givin' you no static :cool:

If that's Moondog's old bass, it's my old bass & Randy's old bass, too. :D Randy lives in California, but he's outside of LA. Maybe the bass made its way to San Diego?

I used to keep dryer sheets at the counter because the gibsons would all come in charged up..

I am selling it, I just can't get used to the feel of the sr4, I mown two sterlings and two SR5's, the sr4 is just a different animal, anyone who wants it, It's brand new with the plastic on the new static free pickgaurd, I need $925 in pocket, and It's yours.
