It did it with the ernie ball strings that came on the bass, and with the warwick black label strings that are on it now, no difference.

... I get the worst static ... I've never encountered anything like this, when I removed the pickgaurd, and even slightly run my finger across it, you can hear it crackling with static, please help!!!

Seriously, the Zerostat works, I use one with the vinyl audiophile records in my ancient 33 1/3 LP collection, and I ain't givin' you no static
