Holy ****. Yes, my admiration can only be described in asterisks. It's that good.

I just got my Ray in, and I'm rocking out, as I am wont to do, and I'll be damned, but this is that tone I hear in my head. Precisely the tone I hear in my head. Not "man, that's close," not, it. Just it.

I'm throwing down through a Peavey Ultra 60 and a Mesa RR 410 (EV loaded), and I tell you, this is the tone that could destroy the universe. Or possibly build the universe, depending on which way you're coming.

And I haven't even gotten to monkeying about with the detuner on this bad boy. EB/MM, I salute you. I mean, it's a really lax salute, it's not all crisp and military grade saluting, but it's a salute none the less.

Another believer... ;)

Actually, I already was a bit of a believer. That's why this bad boy came in. It just seems that about every time I'd sit up and notice a bass tone, and be like "Stop the presses!" it was a Stingray. So, when the means presented themselves, I jumped on it like a fat man...oh, wait, so I jumped it like I was at a buffet, and am surely glad I did.

I'm also quite happy with the honeyburst color. I was under the impression it was much more orange, but I popped open the case, and was very pleasantly surprised.

I mean, it's like, finally, someone made a bass with my headbones in mind. Now, if only I could talk them into making me an SR 5 with at leat a 1.87" nut...

the only problem with EB basses (for me) is that when i plug them in i want to play louder than hell ... 'cause like you said: the tone can "destroy the universe". i want to break windows, bring down walls and kill little kittens (sorry that was mean).

Kill kittens...you monster. Now, if you'd said "kill babies," we'd be in total agreement.

I know. I just want to keep turning it up. Louder, people!

It's disgusting how much I like this tone.

Totally cliche, but I keep hearding "I can't put it down!" Well, I've had some nice basses in my time, and I've played them for like, 20 minutes "Huhn. That sure is a nice bass." And then on the stand it goes until next time. I've had this Ray in my lap for three hours plus, and I can't put it down.

This has never happened to me before.
