Old pic but that's the red Bongo. Tonight we played the ballroom overlooking the Texas Motor Speedway. Interesting place. Nine stories up with a big glass wall behind us...I think I'm glad it was dark.

Long story short, we played exceptionally well, I thought, and about three people seemed to care. Hey, it was a party, we were just hired help. (Even if we'd sucked, they'd still have to pay us.)

We played all kinds of stuff.

From "Here Comes Santa Claus" to "One After 909", the Candy Red Bongo just KILLED. I love that bass.

Thank you, Dargin, for talking me into that one.

If that were the only bass I had, I'd be in excellent shape.

I have seven different fretted electric 5-string basses (and one acoustic/electric 5-string) and I must say that the Bongo 5 Single H KILLS! :D

I have a 5H bongo. I love it too. If ever a bass could keep a man warm at night Aggie will do just that.

The only gig Aggie doesn't get is the one I get all crazy and decide to play the 6 string version of Aggie. .

Flats do that to a bongo. :D

That is such a nice looking bass...

I already have a red Sterling and didn't want red for my bongo. But man it looks so nice, I might just get another red bass...

Jack, I remember that one from the Dallas Bash and it is truly killer... how about flipping it over and showing the crowd what is on the back!?

5 strings? Flats??

I'm surprised you go out in public with that thing. :D

That's one purty bass, Jack.

I like it with the luscious, curvy girl cartoon pickguard(clear pg) you had on it!:D

That's come to be known as the "Fat Girl" pickguard. If we start playing bars again, I'll put it back on. Didn't seem like the best idea for a corporate party, although the fools hired Cowpilot, so they deserve whatever they got.

I remember seeing the crew do that at the bash and thinking "there's a bass Jack can't trade now" but then again, why would he want too???

By the time that bass got autographed, I already knew it was a desert island instrument.

I put a little extra poly over the sigs. It isn't perfect and they'll probably wear sooner or later, but hey, I have photos of it. I wish there had been a way to do it better........but I gotta play that bass.

Gotta.

It periodically occurs to me (as it did just now) that I still haven't had the pleasure of trying a Bongo 5H. I've owned and loved both a 4H and 5HH, but have never laid hands on a 5H. It IS Christmas time ... hmmmmmm ....

Santa... I mean Sterling is now taking Christmas wish orders. And just think, you don't have to write a pleading letter or sit on his lap... Heck, it doesn't even matter if you've been naughty or nice. You might, however, want to leave out milk and cookies when he delivers it but don't have a fire burning if he decides to actually come down the chimney.

I LOVE MY BONGO 5 SINGLE H!

Nice basses - I think the Candy Red Bongo is one of the best colours I've seen.

Nice set list as well - Little Sister is particularly fun to play IMO!

What EQ controls do you get on the single H Bongo - are they different from the multi pick up variants?
