I have a Sterling and a Warwick Thumb. To be honest, I think I like them both about equally. But, the customer service from Music Man is vastly superior to that received from Warwick's U.S. distributor. I appreciate Music Man's customer service accessibility and quick response.

By charity I will name nobody, but there are some brands in the music industry I used to be a ***BIG*** fan of, and I finally turned my eyes towards other directions when they appeared to have lamely poor customer services.

This is a big factor to me. You generally have no issue with your equipment, but sometimes this happens, though. Or you have a question to ask to get the best out of your investment. You get answered to quickly and accurately at EBMM (and a few other brands too). But many companies don't care about you. You're just a lost number in the mass of their global sales. And they don't intend to be responsive.

In the musical instrument biz, EBMM sets the standard.

Hats off to Dargin, Brian, AJ, Jodi, Beth, Kevin, Derek, Dan, Jon, Drew, the other Jon, Dudley - am I forgetting someone?

Oh yeah, that Big Popcorn guy:

There is a certain value placed on "making the sale"...

There is a certain value placed on "supporting the sale"...

I have found that "supporting the sale" is an excellent way of ensuring continued, future success in "making the sale".

EBMM gets it - I boggles my mind that so many other companies don't.

Well Sad to Say but I have owned almost every electric 4 string made one time or another, and I have come to realize, Ernie Ball Music Man makes the very best Bass in todays bass world.

So for me I've found my Nitch.

I had a Warwick for two weeks. I returned it today. I didn't like how all the good sounds I can get out of it called for dimed tone controls. My EBMMs tone controls almost rival my amp head in adjustability.

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I wasnt going to open this because of the negative stuff an innocent thread like this usually elicits. Bravo for not turningn this into a Warwick bashing. Frank Variety is the spice of life.....I just appreciate the support we get but I would hate a world with one bass.

I took a trip to New York recently. I met up with a virtual buddy, who is now a real life one. He has a few Warwicks. He has two particularly nice custom shop, all white Streamer Stage 1s with blue LEDs in the fretboard, wide neck models. I must say, I had a little play and they did sound very nice. The wide fretboard was a little difficult to get on with, but I'm sure anyone getting one would get used to it. However, I think I'll stick with what I have.

Customer Service Expectations

It's interesting what people tolerate as acceptable customer service. WW German customer service is very responsive, but unfortunately, they can't help in the area of parts or accessories. Plus there is a little communication breakdown. But they try. It's the U.S. distributor that selectively returns calls and emails. I think MM customer service is the benchmark for the industry to achieve Peavey's is also very good.

As I mentioned earlier, I love my Warwick. But I bought it after purchasing my MM, which I love a little more. I had to keep my priorities straight. Both are excellent basses, but the customer service is what raises the MM to the top.

I would hate that too BP, that's why I have several Balls :p

And if variety is really the spice of life then how come most wives won't let men have several girlfriends?

I absolutely agree 100%. Whether you own Lakland, G&L, Shuker, Fender or Sadowsky, i think the thing that puts EBMM above all others is the personal level of customer service.

The best bar none!!! :D
