I just got married about a month ago -- I've been enjoying it and my new bride just gave me another reason to smile.
One of my favorite "Basses that got away" was a Bongo I had to sell a few years ago when I had been laid off and my money wasn't right. I have always referred to the Bongo as a "Nuclear Cruise Missile of Tone." This thing has one of the most versatile electronics packages I've ever heard of in a bass -- and Oh, by the way, I LIKE the shape!
The odd thing about it was that unlike most of my basses (that she never noticed one way or another), she ALWAYS dug the Bongo -- she thought it was sexy.
Well, the other night she was doing some Christmas shopping and decided to peek into a GC and lo and behold they had a Stealth Bongo --- and she decided that I needed to have another Bongo in my life.
Well, next thing you know, it's Friday night, and she's walking into the house carrying a Musicman case and Voila -- Stealth Bongo HH!!!
Merry Christmas to Me!!!
