Hang on to the SUB and start saving.Rics are nice basses but are a completely different animal.I have been waiting for one to come my way for a while now.
sometime in highschool i bought a used ric for $200 and it was in great condidtion. i ended up returning it so i could use the $ for a new skateboard instead!
Why don't you trade the SUB on a Stingray? Or sell the SUB on ebay and buy a used Stingray?
Rickys have a very distinctive sound, but aren't suited to the wide range of music and genres that a Stingray can cover. What styles of music do you intend to play?
+1
All mids. I had one in 1980 for a few years. Good for anthem rock and has harmonic overtones that never end. Crap for slap though (at least my slap).
Oh well, if Rush ever revives 2112, you'll be ready.
I had borrowed a Ricky for a couple of weeks from a friend. It is quite cool in terms of both looks and sounds. Although it sounds like a 'bassier' guitar. I really dug the epoxy coated fretted fingerboard. It also had a midi input.
