That's the reason I went lefty. I had no feeling whatsoever in my pinky or ring finger and the hand was very slow responding to fretting... hence the Blue Pearl Luke, a godsend.

Just don't do anything that you will regret in later life...

That's no fun! I don't know what I'd do if I had to give it up!

Dude, I feel for you!

Hi,
My other post didn't get through so here we go again... I haven't posted anything on this forum in great some time but frequently check it every several days. I'm a proud & happy owner of an early AL Pinkburst bought from a forum member some time ago.
As expected, I was amazed by the guitar but equally amazed by the members of this forum who patiently answered my questions about MM guitars. The same level of care you're receiving right now Pug. These folks are truly a class act!
One of the reasons I pulled back was a heart attack and eventual heart surgery, long recovery, etc. I can play the guitar but there is a chance that I may never get to do many of the former physcal activities that I love so much. However, I haven't given in yet!
Pug, I don't want to fill you with false ideas but I do want to give you hope. Search and search again. There may be an alternative therapy, surgery, medication, etc. out there that could turn this situation around.
Pat Martino after his brain surgery had to relearn to play the guitar. Django did it with fused fingers. Phil Keaggy's missin' one. Les Paul had his arm permanently set in a playing position after a road accident.
Pug, don't give up. After seeing your post, I couldn't sit on the side lines and keep silent. I'm prayin' for you!

Pug I am gutted for you mate. Just gutted. If they can put a man on the moon they should be able to sort you out. I know how you feel a little. After spinal surgery i had to give up rugby.

Hope the L/Hand works out. I cant think of what else to say....what about getting into sound engineering or something.

All the best mate,

Jonny.

Hello Pug

Sorry to hear such a bad new.
In Paris, there is a sort of clinic for musicians where they can "learn" how to play without hurting themselves.
Did you try to take lectures with a teacher (classical guitar teacher) ??? I had some problems with my hands (in fact, during my youth I did a lot of mountain climbing, so my tendons are a mess). I had a real improvement when I began to play my electric guitars with a classical position (for instance, I use a "footstep" for my left foot).

Good luck

Pug, I feel very sad for you. You must feel so blue. Hope you either manage to reduce your playing time in order to avoid pains or convert and became a lefty.
Don't give up, man.
Best regards
Marco

Thanks to all for the well wishes and prayers. There a numerous options for treatment out there it's just a matter of discussing with professionals which will work. I'm not giving up yet, just taking plenty of time off so that I may exahust some of these options.

Thanks again everyone and keep on playing !!!!!
