  1. Acquire 2 awesome basses (in my case, it's a Bongo HH and Sterling HS).
  2. Play only one bass and keep the other put away.
  3. When GAS symptoms flare up, play the second bass and put the first one away. Fall in love all over again.
  4. Repeat every 4-6 weeks as needed.
:D

In all seriousness, I think this has been working for me. I pretty much only played the Sterling for all of May. I even started thinking of selling the Bongo and getting something else. Then last week I got out the Bongo, and it is AMAZING, like having a brand new bass. I'm experimenting more with the preamp and using new tones that I never have used before.

Yep, I find that I leave some of my EBMM's neglected from time to time, so I pull one out and play it, and WOW!

Then I must be so verrrrry thoroughly cured that
I shall live forever [but never buy another bass] !

See my sig ? Thaz just the EBMMs ! Waaaay less
than halfa my 'dose' of the cure ....

But, ultimately [like lately now] it DOES work. I
really never see an ax more interesting than the
odd ducks in my flock. I never hear a bass that
sounds better than my 'wives' ... etc, etc, for all
parameters by which I used to judge a bass as
an irresistable/necessary/inevitable new 'wife' !

It simply did take way more than a pair of MM's
in my situation. Also, I was playing almost 20
times a month. Lately it's just 5 or 6 :-(

Soooo ... The Cure works, but the dose will vary
with the individual case.

That's about how I work my two. ask me who is #1 out of the two, in short it will depend on what day you ask me :)

1.Acquire 2 awesome basses (in my case Two StingRay's 4 string, 3x bands).
2.Play only one bass and keep the other it the rack and feel guilty for not playing it and favouring one over the other.
3.When GAS symptoms flare up (or this weeks favourite starts sounding flat), play the second bass and put the first one away. Fall in love all over again.
4.Repeat every 4-6 weeks as needed (it only usually takes a new set of strings to sway me)

(slight amendment :p )

Well yes of course I still look :) but this method helps me to not buy. It is not a sin to be tempted.
