UPS just dropped it off to me. I'm usually not one for sunburst style finishes, but this one is great!!

The finish isn't Autumn Redburst. It looks like more of a cherry sunburst. I'll have to do a serial number check and find out for sure.

THe pickups aren't original. The bridge is a JB Jr, and the others are Dimarzio Virtual Vintage 54's. My ears are still warming up to them, since I've been used to humbuckers before this one. I do like the sound I get from the JB. Great humbucker tone when everything is maxed, but cleans up and sounds more single coil-like when the volume is cut back.

I've also never seen a Silo Special with this much figuring on the neck. Needs a good cleaning, but there's ALOT of birdseye on there.

Thanks to 5stringer, I found out that it's Honeyburst, and it's a 99 model. Nice guess on the 97-00, threeminutesboy!

I'm definitely thinking about modding this one a little. It doesn't have a silent circuit on this pickguard, since it has hum cancelling singles and a mini-bucker installed. I really like the sound I'm getting from the mini-bucker. I'm considering loading the whole guard up with a set of Dimarzios. A Tone Zone S, Pro Track, and Air Norton S.

I might go completely nuts and rout out the neck position for a humbucker, so I can load it H-H, or H-S-H. But since that involves hacking into the wood, I'm going to think about that for a while.

I'm really happy with this find. I can believe I got it for $600, and it's flawless!!!!

That looks awesome! I would throw a vintage white pearloid guad on that one with Black pickups. Also some chrome dome knobs...I cant stand those plastic strat knobs (they look too cheap to me on such nice guitars). That would be so damn cool looking! Nice score and the neck is amazing!!!

Thought you would be joining the Autumn Redb family.. Congrats to you nonetheless!! Very nice honey burst there! Yup - the neck does need some cleaning. ;)

How about a tort guard and some black hardware? Will look just like my Cherry Burst AL - Classic funky look!!:D

I thought it was Autumn Redburst initially, esp since the pics from the ebay listing were nonspecific. But honeyburst is a very cool color, and the amount of figuring on the neck is a very welcome surprise.

I might start another thread throwing ideas out for new pickguard colors. I've got a few ideas but I wanted to poll the group.
