I practiced last night.

I played along with Ed Friedland and one of his bass books. Felt good.

I think I'm diving into one. Not practiced seriously for a week, just jammed along to records. Played a few tunes at lunch time in prepartion for band practice tonight and felt totally uninspired. Awful technique, terrible tone and dodgy time keeping.

However, past experience tells me this feeling won't last.

Oh, and I just heard, our drummer broke his finger at work today. We've already booked the rehearsal room, so that will be a practice without a drummer then.

Actually, despite the unfortunate title, Bass Guitar for Dummies is pretty good. Ed's books are also excellent -- I have the Hal Leonard Blues Bass book, which he wrote, as well as the R&B Bass Masters. I'm working through the blues book now. If I spent half as much time practicing as I do on this forum, I'd be a much better player.
