I really want a EBMM JP 6 string

Hey guys, newbie here! My name is Aaron (yes, its me Jon) and I live in Cali. I was recommended to check out EBMM's and I fell in love with the JP model, BUT! I hate tremolo bridges! Is EB ever going to make a guitar with a stoptail? I play in Drop C, and Jon (TheOC) said I would have to do all this maintenence. I also really dig the Axis, but again, tremolo bridge. Could I get one custom made with a stoptail?

Long answer: no. Short answer: no. Guess that takes care of that!

Signature models are made for just that reason: for the person who has their tiny little signature on the headstock. (I'm sure that they write bigger, but for the sake of the headstock, they have to sign realllly small. OK, I keed, I keed...)

As far as the Axis, great guitar, and since it is not endorsed by anyone (signature wise), and you are not a trem fan, might I suggest an Axis SS? It's pretty much an Axis, minus Floyd, and with vintage "trem" (but if you never put that bar in, you'd be happy), plus the nicety of string thru body, making change outs easy. It also has Schaller locking tuners as well, so you'd stay in tune just fine.

Any one else wants to jump in with other suggestions, feel free. Just my take on it.

Lucky you...pretty much all the EBMM guitar models - with the exception of the JP and the Luke - have the stoptail option!

Check out the Axis Super Sport (much more flexible than the standard Axis IMHO) if you have your heart set on that body style and electronics, but definitely don't rule out the others either. Try 'em all out, and you'll discover that they all play and sound great, and one of them might offer more playability and tones than what you were originally looking for. For instance, I would've never thought I'd have been into the Morse or Luke models, but found them to be outstanding instruments once I tried them....

Similar to a JP in a number of ways, but really optimized for you serious down-tuned riffers... I've heard/read nothing but VERY good things about these guitars - I'd like one myself, but another Axis keeps getting in the way

You could get a straight silo w/ a stop tail. it's also pretty similar. be prepared to wait for new stuff tho' at least 3 months. As DWF mentioned no stop tails on JP's and you'd be doing yourself a large injustice in blocking the trem there....

Thank you guys! I appreciate all the input, suggestions, etc. I think I might just get over the whole trem thing and get an Axis and use it for my side project (standard tuning) I used to hate the look of the Axis, but for some reason, I love it now!
