I was in NY city on the weekend and stopped off at the Manhatten GC. Lots of beautiful basses including a 5 string 25th anniversary sitting way up high which the sales person gladly let me play :D

Among the many beautiful basses I saw a light metallic blue SR5 with a maple board and a blue pearloid pickguard, this in itself is a not so special combo except that this bass had been pimped with all gold hardware!!!!! And it looked amazing  Seriously the blue and gold was an awsome combo.

However I've never seen or heard of this combination being offered, and the salesman seemed to think it was a regular EBMM bass. Is this a special run of basses for the guitar center as well as their 45th's?

Unfortunatley I didn't have my camera with me, so no pics!

This is a GC exclusive color package called "Pace Car Blue." It is only available on Stingray5 HH basses.

They had a BFR rosewood neck version at the GC in Hollywood when i was there in April. The rosewood neck and gold hardware looked great together. JOSH

I was killing time at GC on sunday and they just got one of these blue and gold SR5HH in stock. The thing looks amazing in that blue, maple board and the pearloid pickguard.
I had to come here to find out what it was because the salesman didn't know anything about it, but I did spot 'Pace Car' on the small bar code hang tag, but at that time I didn't know what it meant.
But this particular bass stood out and sounded wonderful of the bunch. I wish I was in the market for a 5'ver, but I'm still saving my pennies for an Al.
