Well I have been playing with the church band where we play an average of 4 songs on every other Sunday and 4 on every other Wednesday. The church has 2 music teams so everyone can get a rest and not get burned out. Well I have been going to all practices even the other's team for experience.

So the last 2 weeks the other bassist has not been showing up, so I fill in during practice for him.

Well last night was my off week and I went in and sure enough he didn't show so i played with the other team.

The singer is the director and she wants me to play in an outside concert that the church is holding in Late July where we play 15 - 17 songs to a crowd of about 300+.

I am flying man. :D

now I must go practice like a madman.

Oh yeah, to be honest I think the Dargie was the kicker with it's styling good looks.

Two gigs a week will be good practice for the July gig, even if they're only 4 songs per gig. The bigger the crowd, the easier it is to play, in my opinion. Enjoy!

Excellent! Similar to my experience of musical opportunity stemming from church exposure...

Play a bit for the church on occassional Sundays...

Organize/host a "coffee-house" music & arts night...

"Hey, why don't you guys perform at our annual picnic!?"

And this year four gigs with our sights on 6-8 gigs for next summer. :D

Congrats. You'll do great. Practice.......:D:D:D

I love playing church gigs. That's all I've done since 1993. The bigger the crowd the better..........:)
