I believe I am going to order a HH SR5 soon. Pacific Blue Burst, black pickguard, maple fingerboard.

Thoughts?

Im not going for the matching headstock. I was planning on doing rosewood/matching headstock, for a while, but then i realized a) im a maple person, and ill probably end up not liking the rosewood and once i decided to go with maple, i hate the way maple looks with a matching headstock with PBB so im going without it.

Plus it saves me some money.

Cool choice- that's gonna be a weapon. I reckon PBB is one of the best finishes out there, but then I would say that...

Are you going for matching headstock??

I tried to talk him into it. He wouldn't do it. :p

I think I go along with Fig on the MHS thing...To my eyes anyway it kind of detracts from the purity of the design, and pulls the look of the bass off balance. And yes, for some weird reason it looks a lot better on a RW board IMHO.

I've been spending way too much time here: I'm starting to have some Bongo-shaped GAS:eek:

Stealth/Sapphire Black/Egyptian Smoke, HH and a black ice P/G might sort me out! (New Year+ New Band = New Bass)

Got to get off the rock and find one to play first though:cool:

What happened to next summer Fig?:D

GAS got to ya?

I like matching headstocks for finishes like white and some of the bursts. Probably not blue burst though so I hear you on that. A pearl blue/maple/matching headstock seems pretty though.

Let us know when you pull the trigger.

I remember that kind of money-lending. Can't remember ever paying back, though:D

Good luck with the bass, I'm sure it will look god on you. But I think MHS might look cool on a maple... Then again, I think you should get yourself a Bongo, so don't listen to me:)

I have to pay back, no such luck here. Its a pretty significant loan. As of now i only really have about half of what the bass will cost.

When I was your age I wanted to stay home instead of going on vacation with my parents. So they said fine, if i didn't tharsh the house and pay my own food (ahd a summer job) they'd give me the money that otherwise would have gone to paying for me on vacation. That worked beautifully, ending with me getting a new bass AND amp:)

In this day and age in sheltered America that would result in your parents being brought up on charges and you being put in a foster home.

Sir Figs a lot,

Somehow I missed this thread. Congrats on the exciting news. Pacific blue burst is a killer finish.

Mr Fig, I have seen and answered your PM. I shall be back in our lovely country as of Tuesday morning and will be glad to speak further about your desires.

Eh, only your BASS desires, I mean.

Jack
