Help! I think I fried the EQ on my Stingray HS

kdef, I presume you've tried a replacement battery?

Seems strange .... usually the preamp doesn't care how loud the amp is. Unless there is some sort of reverse power surge rule I don't know about. Have you checked the battery tabs inside the battery box to make sure they are making contact with the battery? You may have to pull them out (gently) with a small screwdriver. Sometimes they get pushed in too far as different 9 volt batteries coime in slightly different lengths.
