Hi all!!

This is my first post, and I registered because I am delighted with my latest find.

I have been scouring guitar shops and eBay recently, sort of half hoping I found a decent Stingray 4, and half hoping I didn't so that I wasn't tempted.

Anyway, yesterday while my fiancée was out with her friend, I did a search for Stingrays close by and I saw one. I emailed the seller and asked what the reserve was. He told me £650.

I waited until a minute before, and bid £650. I thought if I get it then it's fate.

Went to pick it up this morning. Couldn't believe the condition. It's literally showroom fresh. No dings, no wear, nothing. The guy is a bass head and he had 10s of thousands of pounds worth of gear. He said it didn't fit in with the music his band played.

Here are some pictures, I've since swapped the clear pickguard for the original black one.

What do you think? I think it plays like a dream. The intonation and saddle height is perfect and the neck fills my hands nicely.

Cheers. I love it. I've only been playing for a few weeks but I used to dabble badly in a bit of guitar.

I'm stunned at the tone that comes out of the thing. I have a Boss bass cube 30w practise amp, and I just get this beautiful rounded full tone like on wherever I lay my hat by Paul Young. Sounds amazing.

My other bass is an Ibanez SR500, which is lovely too but this is just in another league.

I need to learn how to slap :)

Well done matey, what a beautiful bass for a "horribleman"

Mind you, I'd have to see what it looks like with the black picguard on, as I think that see-through one it's quite tasty, as it goes. But each to his own...

Welcome inded, and we are not all americans here so you can feel right at home. :)
