my ray is only 8 1/2 lbs and is super in the mids. i was wondering if a heavier ray would beef up the bottom end. i want a tobacco burst with maple fret board and 2 band EQ, maybe one of the classic series? any thoughs?

Just make sure you dont sell the light one!

My 2 band Ray does seem more bass-orientated compared to a 3. the 3's are much more complex in the mids. I wouldnt worry about the weight as the EQ is so powerful!

the one i have now(and i would never sell it) is a 2 band EQ, i think the light weight is taking some bottom away compared to a heavier ray.
