I traded the one off Al BFR...

Yep, as some of you may recall, I won a raffle at Blind Lemons' Knucklehead Bash in London, the money going to the CLB and the price being a BFR Albert Lee signed by Steling, Scott and Brian. Lovely guitar and a true one off, but after some agonizing I decided that it was just too much guitar for my non-existant guitar playing talents, and that it would be a stame if all the Al would ever do was to be used playing Ramones at home. And badly too.
So DaveB and I talked, and the end result was him getting the Al and me getting a 20:th anni SR5! One pick up, flame top, MHS, and an all round wonderful bass!
I realize I need to pic it to make it official, and I'll do that as soon as I've wonder wiped the fretboard...

Good for you mate! He DID offer any bass player the bass of their choice - I think you've got a more than fair deal there I remember seeing the bass on his site (if it's the one I'm thinking of) and it's a beaut.

Azzy, this is a tremendous piece of bass, and maybe one day when I've turned you towards the unmanly 5-string I'll lend it to you, deal?

Lol the Overwater was of course a joke, they are good instruments but not my cup of tea

Now the SR5 is my cup of tea, it is a totally different flavour to the Bongos, and it looks just amazing!

And the case, bloody hell, all black snakeskin, it looks down right sisister!

So this bass is the twin to our dear moderator Jacks', except he opted for the quilt. I'll talk to him about a possible bass duo doing country classics, I'll shave my eyebrows and we'll wear matching tom mix outfits.
