just a tho't........i've decided that the best thing (to me) about my axis ss, is the comfort factor. it hangs just right, & the neck feels so natural in my hands. i believe that i could put ANY p'ups in it and wouldn't care what they sounded like.....as long as the feel didn't change.

i've picked up a few fenders since buying back my axisss, and to be honest, i hafta put 'em right back........even those nice old teles i usta love........like louisville sluggers.....yuck!

here's my curiosity: did you buy yours for: looks, speed, tone, balance, comfort........or did your ol' lady make ya cuz it wuz cute?:p

Well I bought my Silhouette without knowing anything about it exept for what was on the EBMM website. I KNEW that these had to be the BEST guitars if Steve Morse played em, so I HAD to get one ("one" LOL that's funny isnt it!!!). I bought the Silo based on how it looked but also the PUP configuration. When I recieved it and played it it was immensly comfortable, tone is awesome, looks the best, and everything!!! That is why right now I am deciding which I wnat to get next, either a Axis SS or a LUKE, and it is tough. But I MUST replace my Ibnz, because there is no room for it and there is no way it can be better than either of the two choices I stated :D  .

I've bought my Axis SS HH for several reasons :
The first : The sound, this guitar has a incredible Rock sound, the "Brown" sound, fat, clear, and huge, plus his split sounds in the 2 and 4 positions are superbs Strat and Tele like and make this guitar very versatile !
Then the Look : It's simply the better looking guitar ever made IMHO !
Just one thing, concerning the comfort, it's a EBMM, so the comfort is the best. Their unfinished neck is awesome, Top world class !!!
I'm totaly addicted to EBMM since my first, which is my Luke i have bought in 1998, so when i've ordered my Axis SS, i already have my Luke and an Axis, and i know the specific comfort these guitars have comparing to others brands, so the comfort factor was evident for me : Fantastic !!!;)

I only got "turned onto EBMM guitars" after watching an Albert Lee dvd.
I tell a lie, an old bass player of mine had a 'ball and that was real good.

Anyway after tracking one down and playing one, I just had to have one. I love my Tele, 'cos the neck was custom built for me,-it's gonna be a hell of a slugging match between the Tele and the Albert.
It took me a while to get used to it's shape, now I'm like a kid waiting for it to be delivered!

for me it was the neck, the moment my hands touched that axis neck it was mine.

I bought my first EBMM because EVH played one, and the fact it came in a hard tail too. Now owning a few, they are just so comfortable, and sound superb!

I was a big EVH/Axis fan after I first got turned on to EBMM guitars back in '99. Then in 2001 I bought my first Pet, and wow, the neck and the trem and the body fit just right. I was hooked (an understatement if there ever was one :D ) , and I believe the guitar has made me a better player.

huge JP fan, played the sig guitar, fell in love with the neck, the comfort and the tone, and the rest is history.

Oh and the piezo, bridge, and paintjobs.

EBMM paintjobs are just incredible!

Fell in love with my SS, it was/is my dream guitar. Lost it in 20 seconds and got it back a few months later. I had messed with a SS at GC and liked it, but man when I got that guitar home, it was like BAM!!!! Haven't looked back since. The quality, the customer service, the people the whole experience. Nothing like it.

I'm gonna bet that the guitar made you want to improve your discipline, and therefore you made yourself a better player. Wanting to play and being able to enjoy playing an instrument are key points in disciplining one's self into a stricter/tougher practice regimen.

I'm still sloppy as anything except for ____(insert keith's new favorite saying)____. I sure do enjoy practicing and playing a whole lot more on a quality instrument like my JP :D

You state some good points, Pete. I wouldn't disagree. What time on the 18th do the festivities start?
