The perfect woman is the one who knows up front that you're not the perfect man, and who can deal with that.

Thank GOD I found her.

;)

I've been married over 20 years. My bottom-line advice to anyone thinking of getting married is:

"At the end of the day, you have to live in the same house with this person, permanently. In a very real sense, being a good spouse is the same thing as being a good roomate. It's that simple."

I have been married 31 years and neither of us are perfect. :D

I think perfect people get crucified.

For the record I don't know much about marriage. I have been married since I was 19 and it always has been what I wanted and what I call good.

Lots of folks know way more about the ins and outs of it all.

I don't compare basses to wives. Just doesn't make sense to do so.

This thread just got derailed a bit but it is good to know that lot of guys here are happily married:)
My problem with women had been always music. They all loved me first because I was a musician and they all left me because I was a musician who never got a big break:( Working day job and playing at night and doing other bad things never helped them to stay:rolleyes:
Well I still have five guitars and five basses and too many vintage amps and I can live with that:eek:
I also have two cats and two dogs and they really love me.

me and a corworker were talking about how tough it was to find a rad girl and i said something like...

"I want a girl who has her sh** together but is down to drive down to santa cruz at the last minute to see the circle jerks show".

if anyone knows her please have her give me a call. ive "passed" on so many girls b/c they dont get "the music thing".

ps: the circle jerks still rock and their opener, Ignite - an awsome OC hardcore band, flat out killed (i think one of Randy's ex-bandmates plays in Ignite)

You can't say this does not have a classic look.

And for sound, you should try a Stingray with the 2-band eq. You'll be suprised.

Don't discount the foam mute trick...it really works.

if you ever want to sell it let me know.i dont have any money,i just bought a sr5 but i have a nice sister.....just kiding .......about the sister part,i do love your bass

Spencer, you really ought to try a HS Sterling.... that single up front gives you plenty of thump. Of course, I've never had any complaints of being overly trebly or noisy either in my church gig...

I think its so funny how oppinions differ. You think its the best looking bass you have ever seen but I think its the ulgyest bass I have ever seen. And has no classic look to it at all.

I played alot of basses. But I can't find the right one.. I had a stingray and loved it except for its frets which were in bad condition which is why I sold it. But I never got to use it in a band. I play in a band at my church by the way.

I then bought a sterling and loved it untill I played it at church. It was way growlier than the stingray, but in a bad way. I could never sit in the mix I always stood out and it just didn't fit in.

So I felt a precision would be the perfect bass for the type of music I played. Well It did provide the sound I was looking for but its missing something. I just can't dig in like I did with my sterling/stingray or well it sound like crap when I do.

I tried a jazz bass and do like SOME of them. I can't explain why some just sound like they wouldn't fit in a band all that well.

And my true love the stingray, there is a chance it could work I think. Because it sounds much better than the sterling in a mix to me.

One thing I haven't been digging lately is active basses they always have this boost on the REALLY high freqs. Even if you cut the treble its going to be there, its like this on all active basses.

One of the main reasons I don't want to get a stingray is actually stupid but, the way it looks. Sure it looks awsome but it just doesn't have that classic look, due to the pickup placement it looks too agressive. Thats about the only thing I like about the precision, the classic sunburst look.

I tried so hard to love precisions but they never do it for me. I love the look of them and I really do like punk rock/pickplaying and Im trying to get my church to go in that route because its awsome. I think one of the main reasons Im haveing so many problems is that my favorite type of tone is a stingray played hard with nice riffs, but the music I play calls for a Precision with the tone rolled off.

I know you guys can't give me the answer about what Im looking for. I would try the stingray in the band but I would have to sell my P to get it and the band already makes me feel like a gear whore for haveing a new bass every week.

By the way I don't like bongo's either or Double pickuped stingrays, but it may be the only option..

One can Never Have enough Music Man Basses.:D
