I am in Atlanta this week, and one of my friends told me that some people here refer to it as "The War of Northern Aggression"

"The War of Northern Aggression"
I ,personally, like my basses to be very versatile. I want a warm smooth tone one second, with high action and flats on it [my idea for church]. But then I also like that Tinny Precision bass sound, with rounds and a heavy attack. [Punk rock side of me]. And next I like my bass to also sound aggressive with fingers, to me that calls for light rounds with Super low action. Similar to flea's tone.
There is no one bass that can do this due to the string type, action and gauge changes.
.........I just answered my own question, the only option is to have 3 basses!

...personally I can get punk tones, smooth jazz, grooving rock, discobiscuit funk, bowel loosening slap and jaw shattering thump all on my bongo without having to change strings. a tweak here, a twiddle there (all of which have been covered on this forum!) and you're away...
....what a funny thread
