I being a trucker 16 years of 4 seasons driving and have acquired a list of companies that are hiring for the Norwestern Canadian runs across frozen lakes in Jan and Feb known as Ice Road Trucking.

I can use the enormous amount of cash being made for the 60 day work period, and I am crazy enough to give it a whirl. (Maybe there is a Markbass in my future.)

Wish me luck as I begin making calls and sending out applications for 2008 as these postions do fill up fast...........:D

I've watched one of those shows. Are you nuts? Haven't you seen those whiteouts?? Those cracks in the ice as it warms up???

But then again, I did put myself through college fishing on boats in Alaska.

Good Luck, OMB.

Waaaaay too cold...not that there are any "good" ways to die, but freezing to death sounds horrible. Hell, even the thought of being injured from severe cold sounds aweful.

I watch all those shows, got em on DVR too. That is some crazy stuff!
I guess if you got the balls to do it, I'll root for ya! But 30-40 below zero just doesn't seem comfortable.

I just got my CDL a couple weeks ago but I don't plan on being a truck driver.I work for a local utility company and it's a requirement of the job. If you really plan on doing this my prayers and respect are with you.......Let us know how it goes

As an ex-Canadian resident with a father who worked up on the North Slope of Alaska at one period I've got to say you're crazy OMB but good luck with your madness and I hope it pays off.

We'll need pics of truck rigs and then markbass rigs of course otherwise it will just never have happened :)
