if you could trade your ebmm for a prs...

I remember that one guy trade his red EVH for a PRS custom 22 since he wanted more tonal range, he was upset that the ECH did not have a tone pot. The guitar is in close to perfect condition if I recall....

I can understand someone wanting more tonal variety than an EVH can manage - I know I get frustrated with mine sometimes. They are probably the best playing neck in the world, so I couldn't let it go. If you need more variety, it's always better to hold onto what you have and get another axe that does something different - it's that classic strat/les paul thing - you want the best of all worlds - the reality is that no single guitar can do it all (although Mr Morse came close- if only he would add piezo...)- PRS do offer a good range of sounds and play great - I've always said on this forum that I'm a fan of theirs as well as EBMM. At present, I want more of both brands :)

I traded my Les Paul Deluxe reissue for this:

This Axis is the best in my collection - the best I've ever played, period - and I honestly wouldn't sell it if you walked up to me and offered me $4,000 for it... It's magic!

I couldn't agree more. I've owned more than one PRS and while I thought they were good guitars, nothing I've ever played sounds as good or feels better than my Axis. To sell it would mean I was willing to compromise my artistic expression for a few bucks.

I'd think be willing to trade Big Poppa my PRS custom 24 natural quilted ten top with birds for the new Steve Morse model.

If he wants, I could bring it to the open house and we could do the deal there.
:)

I use a PRS SCT and CU22 as my main guitars, nothing compares in sound or quality. I used to own a SS as I wanted a strat type guitar and as good as it was something was missing, I shifted it and bought a Tyler, great quality, awesome tone, very resonant and alive.

In order to get a good PRS you really need to buy something that was made prior to 1994. Those were the last of the hand made PRS's. I think they are still good guitars but not as good as they were and they are totally overpriced now. They are charging hand made prices for assembly line guitars.

to me they are overpriced too. but.....i think they are REALLY GREAT guitars. i have to keep picking up a mccarty hard tail w/no maple cap / natural mahogany at my buddy's shop downstate whenever i go in there.......
lucky for my gas manager....the heel ain't just perfect.......
