I'm not entirely sure I'm actually going to do this, but I probably will because once something occurs to me, I can hardly stop thinking about it.
I have three basses that are not getting the love they deserve and I'm probably going to offer them up on eBay - unless one of you guys wants one of them or two or three of them, as it were.
1. The Custom Shop Jazz. In order to do what I want to do, I have to sell this one, even though it is, without a doubt, the finest Jazz I have ever played. I just don't USE IT enough to justify it sitting in a closet in its case. Don't even try to give me crap about it. I know what a good bass it is, I know that I won't ever have another one like it, but if I don't play it, off it goes. I think it's a 2003 model, a NOS 64, and I've only gigged it once or twice. It has all the CS extras and the nice case and all that. What's it worth? I just don't know, but I paid 1800 for it so be reasonable with any offers, should you feel motivated.
2. The Carbon Blue Bongo 4 with single coil/humbucker configuration. Dave LaRue should buy this, he seems to prefer this pickup config. Not a mark on it, as far as I can tell, and a really beautiful finish. It also has two extra pickguards, I think. I have about 900 in this one.
3. The Reverend Brad Houser Signature Fiver. Another really interesting and fabulous bass. I should play this bass more, and I should certainly record more with it, but the fact is that I always reach for the Black Bongo for such things. I have about 700 in this one, although now it has a case that actually fits it, so maybe more like 750.
Okay. There, I've said it. I don't imagine many people here are really interested in these basses, but I wanted to write it down to make it real so that when I do get back from DC, I can toss 'em up on eBay without remorse.
Speak now or forever remember that you had a shot.
