Well.....after a few trials, tribulations and changes....I've for some strange reason ended up with not 1 but 2 BFR models.

I recently had a Bahama blue BFR 7 string but took it back due to several issues with the guitar itself. I tried and another tech tried to get the first string intonated but the saddle had to come so far forward that it would hit the stud when you slightly bent the bar. I had a very good friend who is the manger at my local retailer who found me a Ruby burst BFR 6 to exchange the 7 with and I am super happy with this. The guitar is absolutely perfect in every way!!!! The colour is stunning and really radiates with the light on it. I was done or so I thought.....

My other axe was JP-6 in black which was bought new about a month ago. This was a super tight guitar. Here is where things went horribly WRONG. My friend at the store called me up and said, "Hey, I know you asked about another JP-BFR BUT we have a BFR Luke in walnut burst that just came in...I'll hold it for you". I thought nothing of it as I tried a previous Luke and already had my new BFR JP-6. On my way to pick up my new guitar amp, I immediately noticed the Luke sitting up behind the counter. I couldn't stop looking at it. This was bad and I knew it. So then he brings it down for me to try out......and I'm completely blown away! Not only does it sound perfect, it feels even better. I asked him if I could return the JP 6 and pay the difference on the Luke....and so it happened.

I've noticed much more snap to these than the main production versions. I consistently compared my previous black JP-6 to the BFR JP-6 and it was quite different sounding. Not that there is anything wrong with the regular versions...as everyone knows....those are WAY better than most guitars in much higher price ranges. I just find that the tone on these is just a bit more refined and if anything clearer. But...that is to be expected with the increased price tag. It has to be different and they've done an amazing job with it.

Needless to say, my lovely wife has said, "Your done buying any more guitars, right?".

Yup (said I, crossing my fingers behind my back!) I may BFR again some day but for now, I am completely satisfied! These things are absolutely amazing in every way. Seriously though....she thinks they look and sound fabulous as well. I have a gig in the next week in front of about 8000 people and you can bet that I'll be using both of my babies!

and now for some pics!

Got to find out the DOB for both of these because they haven't been listed in the BFR thread as of yet.
Thanks to the Ball family, it's employees, Steve Lukather, and John Petrucci for creating some truly unique and fantastic instruments!

That's all Folks!

WOW...what a score!

There are both beautiful, but the quilt top on that Luke is pure class....just stunning!

Love to see some gig pics of the these two if possible...

Enjoy!

Sweet Mother of Zeus! Those are just killer! Congrats.

Just a side note and only my observation/opinion - All the BFR models look stunning, but the Luke BFR's are the top of the food chain. Something about them Lukes....but, again, they all look great.

i couldn't agree more. And BP hinted at a possible left handed version, not that you "normies" care, but that's huge for me!!! :D

Yes Virginia, those do SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK!!!!

I have high hopes for the fabled BFR SiLOs mind you. And from what I understand, BFR is not limited to maple tops and a mahog tone block. But rather to what ever EB and company thinks is cool enough to get a BFR certificate.

The hardest part for me is deciding which one to pick up first each night when I practice!
Love them both equally, though! I thought I would dislike the EMGs at first but man.....they just sound killer through my amp. Very tight!

Thx for all the nice compliments, folks! If you ever can get your hands on one, do it. It's totally worth it!
