OK. I ordered a Bongo 4HH in Desert Gold (sweet color) from Beaver at Bass Central last month. I was originally told it would come out of the factory in mid-October (which is like, now). Now they tell me it won't come out until late November! Major bummer. Apparently BP and crew are a bit backed up with their HH production.

What will I do until then? I've already purchased a Bongo 4H, a Sterling and a SUB Sterling (all used) to tide me over. I can't afford to buy any more basses now (what with the holidays and all just around the corner). Plus, the wife would have kittens if I brought another bass into the house.

How will I cope?

Sorry to hear that. It'll be worth it. Do you want it fast, or do you want it right?

Buy another bass, and then sell the kittens to buy a second new bass.

Wait...you ordered a instrument in september and you are bummed that it issnt going to be done until November? most people wait 5-6 months....

Yes, but "I was originally told it would come out of the factory in mid-October" makes it harder to wait, believe me.

I waited 9 or 10 months for my first Bongo, but I KNEW it was going to be a long wait.

I've waited as Much as a 8 months, but when it's the only bass on the market, there's no choice, a Feller just waits cause when its here ain't nottin better.

So play your other EBMMs while you wait :)

I waited 9 months for my Dargie and the homestretch was just like having a baby.

Gotta say you have nice taste in basses, and I am sure you will love your new addition to the family!

Just think of all those poor folks who are still struggling along with the same old basses that everyone else plays. I can't believe it took me more than 20 years of playing to even play my first EBMM. Wasted time, I tell ya.

Thank you very much. I already do and two of them haven't even arrived yet.

I've wanted either a StingRay or a Sabre since about 1979 but could never afford them. Turns out I prefer Sterling and Bongo necks to the SR. But I may pick up a Sabre for nostalgia's sake if I can find one cheap enough.

When I ordered my SR5 fretless back in '97, it took a year to the day until I actually got it in '98. That was a long wait, but I got exactly what I wanted in the finish/colour combo and it also had a nice bird's eye figure on the neck.

If that's what you really want, and I assume it is because it's what you ordered, just wait it out and be happy when it comes! :)

You're going to love the Bongo :D You're really going to hate the wait :p
I went through the exact same thing when I ordered my Sterling. I am one of those people who want it yesterday. It will be worth every second though :)
