As you may have seen - I made a trade: My S*dowsky MV4 for a 30th Ann SR and a Bongo 4H. Both less than a month old - in brand new condition. I thought when I made the trade that I would only keep one of these basses. I have found qualities in both that I like.

If you had to choose - which one (Bongo H or SR30) would you keep - which one would you sell?

I anticipate the "keep them both" response - which I can do. I am looking for your opinions and input and the reasons behind your choice.

Thanks.

Thats a hard choice, but I'd probably keep the 30th aniversary SR just because it being, one a kick a$$ looking bass, and two its highly collectable.

Easy...the SR30th as the production window on them is now closed and EBMM is still making Bongo H's.

Next question?

Exactly. It'll be easier to change your mind about the Bongo in the future. Because, you WILL change your mind. Especially if you hang out here.....

Good points so far. That MG Bongo looked great on stage last weekend!! Haven't taken the SR30 out of the house yet.

id give it a month and keep whichever i play more. maybe after a month you'll notice youre not playing one as much as the other... then that one should go; collectable or not

if they get equal playing time and youre intent on only keeping one then id personally keep the 30th ray for the same reasons mentioned above

No but IIIIII want the single H Bongo :D

Seriously though, keep the 30th - like the guys have said, it's more collectible, and Bongo H's are going to be made for the forseeable future!

Plus it gives you the chance to pick up an LE Bongo H next year :D

I agree wholeheartedly.
On an off topic, i'm still very sadened by what I saw today. My local GC had a 30th 'ray hanging on the wall. Pickguard was scratched all to hell. Lots of swirls in the finish and greasy fingerprints all over it. Still had the full price sticker on it.

Rayzak...remove the price...against forum rules...just to let you know.

I'll just add...keep the 30th. Like Dude said, the order window is closed on them, but you can get the same set up on the bongo again down the road.

Same out here in Denver - matter of fact didn't even have a battery in it - so I thought the tone controls were broken. Sounded like crap.

But I do like mine!!

The good news is I guess I really don't need to reduce the herd until the herd grows. That won't happen until the DDs arrive in Feb 07 or so. I'll just keep playing and enjoying.
