Okay, so I had major back surgery on the 20th. Facebook gets the better of my internet sensibilities sometimes and I am remiss in my attentions to my wonderful friends here on the Ernie Ball/Music Man board.

So, the surgery went very well; and I am now sporting some very cool new carbon fiber and titanium in my lower back. However, it hurt like nine kinds of Hell and I can't recommend it. Anyway...

I can't play for a couple months, so I'll be dusting my Bongos, 20th SR5, SUB and Silos for a little while yet.

So, when is the next get-together at Sterling's house? :)

if you still can use your arms you should make a clampstand to keep the bass in position for ya.. kindof like this guy does:
Code:

it contains non eb guitar, but its the principle i wanted to show, so i included it in a code box instead... :)

ps: get well soon, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Ben what happened to your back? I have been fighting one for years but it is just bad enough to affect a lot of things like walking any distance but not bad enough yet to slice and dice....arrrrgh Glad you are doing well post surgery!

Glad you're ok, Ben, get well soon!

Sorry to hear that you can't play for some time... maybe there's a workaround like suggested by MrM...

Pops, about nine years ago I hurt my back really badly lifting a bunch of heavy stuff. The pain went away on its own and didn't resurface for years. Then it would come more and more often until recently, where it would just never stop hurting. One night, my left leg went completely numb and cold; and I thought I was had an embolus. Wifey told me my feet were the same temperature and I knew it was my back again. I did everything else before surgery: physical therapy, NSAIDs out the wazoo, and finally pain management. I got enough of that and saw a neurosurgeon at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas who immediately told me I needed surgery. He also asked rather irritatedly why my orthopedist didn't send me straight to a surgeon years ago. Ah, the joys of smalltown medicine.

Anyway, it's fixed now; and I go for my post-op visit with the neurosurgeon within a week to get the staples out of my back and get my physical therapy orders. I am healing very, very quickly to the delight of me, my friends and family.

Thanks for the kind wishes, my friends! Watch how you lift those amps and gear!!

Hey in the meantime maybe you could have the boys make you a chambered/semi hollow Bongo to cut down the weight a bit. I've seen BP do wonderful things on here and X-mas is coming! Papa Claus?
Take Care,
