Is that a little ginger girl ?

Jim, hard to tell at this early stage. Lucy hasn't had a bath yet because she's been in the special needs nursery until a couple of issues are resolved (her breathing is good now but she won't keep any food down) so she hasn't had a bath yet, which means that she still has a lot of sticky vernix in her hair. That said, to my eyes her hair looks strawberry blonde like her big brother, but we'll have a better idea once we give her a bath soon.

Hopefully in a day or two we can unhook her from the monitor and have her in the room with her mum :)

Glad to hear everyone is recovering nicely. Did she aspirate meconium?

No, just some of the amniotic fluids on the way out. Babies who are born "naturally" have the beejesus squeezed out of them in the birth process, so their lungs are purged of any gunk, but C-section babies don't go through that stage, so they often end up with lungs full of liquid. She seems to have coughed most of that out today, which is great, so now she just has to nail the feeding side of things.

Mark:

We had some anxious moments when my youngest was born - they're tiny, but strong.

Hoping the "special needs" time passes quickly and she's with mum soon! :)
