i never understood the logic behind an 8X10, and to a lesser extent, an 6X10 or a 2X15. who the hell wants to lug one of those around? or try to fit it in a van, or worse a car? why not just use a pair of 4X10s? is it because, as a whole unit, its louder or bassier because of the way its ported or something? i will never ever own an 8X10 unless ive got an endorsement and roadies.

Two 410s means two trips with awkward 60 to 80# cabs that you have to stoop low to move. Unless you bring a hand truck. At that point you'll need bigger vehicle anyway. And then there's the matter of lifting the 410 onto and into the car. 810s tilt back on their wheels so you can push them around like a hand truck while you keep your ol' back straight. Then you tilt them onto your vehicle. Yes it calls for at least a small sport ute, but so will two 410s and a handtruck.

Besides, this is furniture.:D

I love them, the one in the picture is the reissue B-15-R and I've got a 1966 B-18-N. These are great for around the house because that's about all they're loud enough for.:D The new one with the extra cab is a 100 watts, with a switch to lower it down to 60 watts.

The B-18-N is around 80 watts, but something about that amp is magical, it goes with a bass guitar like a Leslie goes with a B3. Even at low volumes it moves so much air. It has a solid, fat, smooth... tone, vibe...hell, it is something you have to hear in person.

Great bass amps, under powered for today's gigs, but a great sound it is!

Sounds like a great deal - cool!

I'm a fan of eight tens, though I prefer them in two 4x10 packages. :)

I couldn't resist. I bought one of the 2x10s. I needed something for added oomph when my Walkabout Scout just won't cut it. This will be a guilt free addition that I won't feel bad if I only use it every once in a while. Besides, my birthday is a week from Monday--I can get away with it. :D

Hopefully, it'll be here by next weekend. I won't need it tomorrow, but I'm playing a more cavernous place , and the Bongos simply sound huge with more speakers. I like my quiet restaurant gigs, but it's fun to crank it up every now and then.....

With MF blowouts, they usually sell out very quickly (I wonder why with all of us spreading the word). Also, they have been know to show a complete sale online, and then contact you in a few days to inform you that they were indeed sold out.

I'm not trying to scare anyone, just this is a good example of the early bird being the one stuffing their face.

I have absolutely no need for any of these cabs, and I've been back there at least three times ready to buy one (but didn't).

+1

My SWR 8x8 is easier to move than any 4x10 I've owned, so I understand what sycipider is saying.

There's a real good review of the S series Aguilar cabs in the link (from Bass Player) on the MF site. They review the 2x10, 4x10 and 8x10
