I talked about this a while back but this week I'll see Wayne C. Henderson and I'm going to have him to inlay "Jewel" in my CR Bongo's fret board.

I'm thinking we should do this at the 14th fret, that way my fingers will never obscure the view.:D

He is also a master engraver, maybe I should have him make me a chrome pickguard with some damn fancy art work.

I'm going to do something to honor my Mom, and that bass is her favorite color, it must be done.

I'm open to ideas, anything can be done.

Thanks!

Hey, you know that's going to void your warranty. :p :D

You could put "Sting" in there ya know.

Be sure to post pics, I've always thought a custom inlay was a great idea.

Sterling, you just brought a tear to my eye.

Thank you, Sir!

My Mom already likes you, the way I talk about you and these knuckleheads here makes her think you were my next door neighbors or something. I've told her of your best wishes back when this all started and since she thinks I'm "great" she thought you were just saying it for me, I corrected that on the spot, BP really cares.

She was here at my house recovering from surgery when that bass came; she's always loved red and by God EBMM Candy Red is RED!

I'm going to inform Wayne that this work had better be some of his best; here is a little example of what he did in 15 minutes for my 16th birthday present my Mom and Dad had him do for me...

I'll have him take all the time he needs to do something special. Wayne is a world away from us electric bassist, but he's a master. Sadly Wayne lost his Mother just a couple of months ago, I knew her and I sure do miss her.

Amen, Ritch. Amen.
Seriously, Jack, you know how long I've been talking about another bass. I have tried sooo many others (forgive me father for I have sinned). Dollar for dollar, EBMM is the best out there... you factor in this kind of support and caring you have an absolute no-brainer. I have everything I need in one company (and this Dargie thing takes off I am going to have to auction off a lung - teaching has its advantages but $ is not one of them :) )

I know how long it's been, Ritch, and if it makes you feel any better, I occasionally think I'm missing something and so I go out and get myself a Fish or a Lipstick thingy or something...and you know, there are some fine basses out there, but I look at it this way:

1. they don't look as cool as my MM basses
2. they don't make the same cool noises as my MM basses
3. I'm not really getting anything out of those basses that I can't get out of my MM basses.

Then there's the loyalty question. I suppose that some people see me as a Dedicated Company Man, and I suppose that's true enough, but I have perfectly good reasons for it (see above).

Then we start to talk about how we Knuckleheads are treated by the people who build our basses, and it's no contest. If I'm a kiss-ass, I can deal with that.

I suspect you are in deep trouble with Dargie's Delights.

Jack

If I woke up and you were trying to slip a quarter under my pillow, I have to admit it...I'd be scared.

But it's mostly the shirts.
