:)I ordered a new BFR Petrucci in bahama blue quilt last week from GC. It came in today and when I opened the case to play and look it over the nut was filed down to low and the E, A, and D strings were buzzing like crazy and just about touching the first fret. The top wasn't all that nice either and I was very disappointed because I've been wanting to get one for a awhile now. Has any one had this happen before? I've owned hundreds of high end custom shop guitars so I'm no amateur. They are getting a RA number tomorrow to ship the guitar back to be fixed but I'm not to sure I want that guitar back with a new nut or whatever they are going to do. I just have a bad feeling about it. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks, Joe.

First post and no intro, who are ya fella?

So, the axe issue. It was ready in a week? Then it may have been sat somewhere; perhaps a setup from GC would have been a good first port of call? The title of the thread is harsh.

Also, didn't you get a chance to see the finish before handing over your hard earned money?

The chaps on here are amongst the most helpful around, and customer service really do set a very high standard. I do hope by your second post you'll already feel that you are in safe hands.

Yea, when I got mine, the guys at GC were right next to me when I opened the case to make sure I liked what I saw. They said to me first hand "If you don't want it, you don't have to take it." So it's odd with the situation your in. But good luck with everything. I hope you consider another chance with the guitar though, I'd hate for you to miss out on such a wonderful instrument. :)

You ordered it last week and have it already? That means it wasn't ordered specifically for you, 'cause it takes 3-4 months to get one from scratch, so it might have been sitting in the GC for awile, being played by alot of folks.
You should have first taken it back to your GC and see what they could have done for you before 1st post complaining over here.

By the way Big Poppa is the owner of EB and he took the time to answer your complaint. How's that for customer service?

Look its possible that we made a mistake. If we did we will bend over backwards to make it right.

I asked for the serial number because I have a hunch that it was not made to order for this guy.

Im not going to blame guitar center but if it is in fact shop stock anything goes.

EIther way I understand he is unhappy. I cant figure out why he took home a guitar that didnt rock his world and then makes his first post so negative....but like I said ...If we made a mistake....we will fix it.

Thanks for all of the responces. I didn't mean to come off on a bad note. I just wanted to get some kind of advice. I never took the guitar nor did fully pay for it. It came in GC this way and when I ordered it it was in stock and ready to ship from music man not another GC. I'm going to let GC deal with getting it resolved. I really like a whole different guitar and not a repaired one. Thanks for all the help and info and I'll let you know how it turns out. Joe

If I were you, i'd just order another one..
I think you just got the short end of the stick, and that happens once in a while, no one/thing can be perfect all of the time (Although, EB is within .1 of 100), that's just how things work.

Just so you know, GC really has nothing to do with the way the guitar comes out, as much as I hate saying that. UNLESS they screwed up your order in on the CPU, then it's their fault.
