Hey peeps, I am new to this forum and wanted everyone to know I will soon be getting my first MusicMan! I had always wanted the EVH since I was 14. Ed then went to PV and I eventually got a Wolf Special. It was never quite what I wanted and I attribute that to the fact that I still want the EBMM! So Axis it is! I put a deposit on a Vintage sunburst, but I'm not sure I will be too crazy about this color because of the black the red fades to. I was under the impression it would be the HoenyBurst, but no luck. The guy said I could order what I like, but it will take 3 months to build. He said he would try to locate one from another store too. Anyone have any pics of the Axis quilt top with the Vintage Sunburst? The one on the color chart isn't that great. Thanx!

Welcome to the forum Insane. I can't help you with any pics. But with the number of cool dudes on here , it won't be a problem to get them.

Welcome to the forum...As I have said before...If a dealer tells you when a guitar will be made it is just an estimate...3 months is about right, but if it's an upgraded quilt top, and we don't have a nice piece of maple for the top, you wait, We won't send out a lesser top just to move the guitar out of the factory...The wait will be worth it, but when a store tells you it will be done on xx/xx/xx take it with a grain of salt.

I'm also a newbie, but I like this board very much!

I was just wondering how much a new Luke costs in the US...just a 'normal' one, luke blue or black, non matching headstock.

My cousin works at the army and he's going to the US...so maybe he can pick a Luke up up for me (he doesn't have to pay 'importcosts' (don't know how to say it in English ))
Here (The Netherlands) I pay about $2400 for a stock model...that's way too much for me!

Hey Man That's Tobacco Burst! That's the color I ordered mine in with a Premium Quilt Top and Matching Headstock!

It's not in my hands yet so stop playing with my head . I did call and mine is next up on the next production run to be built so hopefully soon.

Oh yeah and I just want to mention one thing in addition to the pic Darrell posted being exactly what i ordered ( if that is a premium top)

I wouldn't exactly get your hopes up when your dealer tells you three months.

I was told the exact same thing and I ordered back on the first weekend of March. The order was supposedly never placed until the middle to the end of March (Even though I paid in full....thanks GC ), my delivery due date was June 24th and to this very day.... I am still waiting although I am being told by customer service that my order is slated for the next production run from the mill. I was told that in the next production run that the only premium orders are mine and one other just like mine so I should be getting a really sick quilt top...I HOPE, and a neck and fingerboard with a ton of birdseye figuring!

So three months I think is more of a baiting factor for GC. I don't agree with it but that's how they work. I for one have said several times to customer service that I don't care how long it takes as long as when it gets here it is nothing short of perfection. I'll wait for the sickest birdseye neck and fingerboard and the sickest quilt top out there!

So now I was told call back in two weeks which is when the next production run should start. At that point it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks from there, so if this is true your wait time is more like 8 or 9 months!

But if you want perfection man this is the pain you'll have to endure!

Yeah, the one dwf1004 posted is Tabacoo. That one is super sweet, but I haven't seen any good pics of the Vintage Sunburst. The top is not premium and that's fine by me. Anyone know what this color is? I'm in love with this one:

That's considered either a Vintage Cherry Sunburst or just a Cherry Sunburst.

Either way you slice or dice it they're pretty much the same beast!

Yeah that's what I figured. I think I may have to get one in this color. Waiting for it will suck if the dealer I go to can't find an existing one. The one I posted makes me pee my pants!

Dunno....that looks more like a honeyburst to me:

I've not seen an EBMM vintage cherry sunburst, but the standard version of their cherrybursts I've seen look more bright red and orange...that one's sure not as bright as the one on the current color chart:

Admittedly, there's a lot of reflection goin' on in that pic, so I could be seein' things. A face-on shot woulda been much better...

Maybe I confused you. The very first pic is the Tobacco Burst. The one in the case is the Cherry Burst.

I know I know looks can be decieving but it's all in the reflection gentlemen!

I think some of the chart pics aren't the best representation. Keep in mind the wood and being hand painted play a factor too!
