I believe it may have been.... I do not recall any Bongos in the video. It has been awhile.... but it did leave a lasting impression !

Ok, so I love flats, and can completely understand them on a Bongo... but Rounds on a Fretless Mr.M?.... that I'm not sure about. :)

I really loved the sound of the Tapewounds on the Fretless Bongo too... they really thump'd. But I'll be keeping the flats on the Ray.... and I'll probably leave the Slink's on the new kid when she comes in.... or maybe not :)

I have five Sterlings, one with flats, one with tape wounds, one with TI jazz rounds and the others with Slinkys, they all sound great, but of course different. The ones with Slinky's get played more, way more.... I'm just sayin'... :D

I love the way flats slide right under the other instruments in the mix .

Almost all of my basses have flats on em . I am after that old school thump though ....

Rounds on a fretless are wonderful. Really, give it a go. It is such a lush sound, there is so much 'mwah' it is unbelievable. I will try flats on the bongo at some point too. Maybe my next one will be equipt with flats.

mmmm i love flats. tapewounds make me think you have strung your bass up with an intestinal dwelling parasite.

Precisely the reason I've avoided them. I can just picture four hideous worms flopping around where the strings should be.

oh yes yes yes indeedy!! No flats in my home, not now, not ever.
If I want a low muffled tone I'll just turn up the VLE (vintage loudspeaker emulator) all the way up on my Mark Bass and I am there. No need for flats. EB Super Slinky Lime green packets of #2836 all the way for me

I love having the VLE option WoooHoooo

I put flats on my 30th and I've never looked back, love the tension love the fatness. Ive got rounds on my sr5 and the strings just feel floppy and weird. Plus being poor no need to buy strings that often :)
