Any Knuckleheads out there that live in the Atlanta metro area? I'll be a new resident of Atlanta starting on Saturday... I'd like to have a fellow knuck to swap stores and drink a few beers with.....

...anybody?

Hi Brandt, Best of luck to you bud! I will miss you at TPB though, need a few more EB's each year it seems. My wife actually asked if this meant I was going to slow down.

Brandt, I'll probably be in Hotlanta for business in the next month and will be there on July 27th to see DMB. You definately have a few rounds on me when I'm there! Good luck and congrats on the move.

I'm ready for the big city.... I think...I making the move from a town with a population of 85K to ATL with 5 Million .... shouldn't be that big of a difference.

Kirby, I haven't let the cat out of the bag yet but.... you are in luck (your wife, not so much) I will be working for Guitar Centers main Atlanta location in the guitar department. I will be able to sell Music Man product to again! (which makes me very happy!) ..I'll post contact info once I have everything sorted out.

Matt, I'll definitely take you up on the offer! I'll send over a PM with my contact info!

Sixstring, I want to tell everyone who you are! haha Thanks man, hope all is well!

Bill, that sounds great! Is he a musician? If so tell him to pop into GC in the next few weeks an ask for me.

..BTW... to add a little EBMM content to this thread... I stopped by TPB the other day and they had a bunch of killer Classic Series basses in stock and an unbelievable black/maple SR5 that had a flamed neck... this bass weighed a good bit but it sounded like it was sent down from heaven! check it out!

Hey Brandt, glad to know you will still be in the family. As long as you keep giving such great customer service, I will be glad to follow you over to GC. Keep us in the loop and good luck with the move.

I go there all the time for misc items. It's a big store which helps

As far as improve upon, I think the staff needs to be more familar with the instruments and other products they are trying to sell. It's like buying a car, I want seller to have knowledge about the car if the asking price is only market value. If the car is a steal, i.e. a running used nice looking '86 porsche 944 for $500 who cares and I would expect problems with that car but i may luck out, but if I'm paying market value for a car, i.e. the same '86 Porsche 944 at $3000, I want to know why I want to buy that car over another nice looking and running '86 Porsche 944 the street for the same price and the seller knows every detail about that car and common problems. ... get what I'm saying? Tell me the difference if I had no clue between the Stingray and the P-bass hanging next to each other and why I would want either one over the other if I couldn't decide.

I don't expect any seller to know all the specs about every instrument or amp but they should have an idea what they are and the basics like Stingrays have active pre amps or this amp has this special feature that makes your bass sound like this...or like that

Hey Brandt, I wish you all th best in your new location and venture, I've never met you but I've seen your videos with TPB and I think you're cool so, have a great new life ahead of you and never look back.

Onwards and upwards it's the only way to go on.

Cheers

BB - he isn't a musician - but likes music - except The Grateful Dead - which he told Bob Weir one night at dinner. Bob said "that's cool" and they talked about baseball through the rest of the meal! He knows tons of people - knows all the good hangs and is a good resource - I'll get you two together.

I'm up and running guys. New contact info below! Thanks!

Hey man you will love and hate Atlanta...at least I did! I lived in Dunwoody for a little over a year and worked out of town most of the time. I am curious if John Lassiter is the manager of the store you are in? He is a great guy and should be a really good guy to work for. I bought a TON of gear from his store in Raleigh, NC while he was in sales and then as a manager there. In fact, I rescued a "new" (but BADLY beatup) StingRay from there just today! Good luck in the new digs and let me know if you ever figure how many roads there are with the words "Peachtree" in the Metro Atlanta area....

Peace,

T
