You can ship FedEx Ground from either a FedEx station or FedEx-Kinko's, and the rates will not be inflated.

For UPS Ground, you can ship from the UPS station. You have to be careful at the UPS Stores because I think some of them charge higher rates. Check the rates online at ups.com so you'll have an estimate for the basic rates.

For either UPS or FedEx, if you sign up for a shipping account you can charge the shipping to your account and be sure that you're getting the best rates.

For a box, if you have a difficult time finding the right size try a bike shop. Bicycle boxes work pretty well, and then be sure to add plenty of packing material around the case (and tape the box really well).

Good luck.

You have to pack it yourself, which is a pain but so what? Get a box big enough for the case and with room to add some padding, then add all the padding you can.

Make sure, like my wife did, to put as many foam peanuts in there as possible. Can't be too careful....believe me.

Okay, this is one of those issues that is best addressed by customer service - at least now that we've all chipped in on the shipping issue.

Given that none of us can really tell you what comes next, I'm going to reiterate that your next step is to call Customer Service and see what works for both parties....and since there is nothing more to be done here (and since BP likes to see CS issues directed to CS and not to the forum at large), I'm going to close this down.

Hope you get things worked out to your satisfaction!
