Half of the sterlings I have owned were light, I like them like that. The one I have now is so light it had neck dive, put a set of ultraltes on it and it balances perfect now. Enjoy that sucker!

I've become such a big fan of honeyburst. That's a beauty. I'd even consider a clear guard just to see more of that awesome finish.

You know, when I saw how it looked with the pickguard off I thought the same thing. The PU rout is tight and even (duh), and the finish and grain under the PG are perfect. Just last night I was looking at clear PGs...

Just a quickie, I have Stingray 5h ...Is the neck on the Sterling 5h the same profile etc ?....Thanks Peter

I sold my SR5 a few years ago, so I can't be sure - but it does seem like the same profile and feel to me. I know many people here have both, hopefully one of them will chime in.

I never really bonded with my SR5 because of the size of the body. To me, the Sterling 5 is the ideal size and balance.

I fell in love with the idea of a Sterling 5 years ago when I saw a SH or HH at a local store in a color I wouldn't consider. It's taken all these years to pull off!

To me the SR5 neck back is flatter and on the Sterling 5 I find it more of a C shape. The nut and bottom width is the same as is the radius on both though.

The maple fb'ed necks have always felt thinner to me than those with rosewood. Though, I did have one maple sterling 5 that felt like it had a p-bass neck on it. It didn't last long before I sold it. The one I have now feels like the thinist of all I have owned, love it.
