Thanks for the backstory, Spud. I've been wondering about why the original owner sprayed white in the first place. Was he just not happy with the mystic dream?

I just don't know the answer to that - I thought that it may have been involved in an "accident" but so far nothing really bad has come to light??????

Sorry - nothing much to see at the mo - I've been decorating for the last 2 weeks and now got a little set back - Up all night with chronic toothache. Camped out on the Dentists doorstep - x ray revealed two back teeth have an abscess each.

So there I was feet up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and the parcel man came - package from Thomann.

Delivered my Danelectro Cool cat vibe pedal - get one - it's fantastic for the money and the cool cat line of pedals are built like tanks.

I hope to make some progress on the JP this coming week.

I’m spending a bit of time in the royal Gwent hospital at the mo visiting my Aunty so just give me a days notice and I’ll sort things out so we can have a few hours to get our balls out.

[lots of sympathy] - what with rubbing down walls and paintwork - I also managed to spend some time on the JP. My finger tips are literally bleeding !! [/lots of sympathy].

There is some repair work near the bottom but I knew that anyway - maybe that's why he (the previous owner)resprayed it?.

I have experimented by buffing up a small area with Guitar Scratch Remover polish and I am getting good results,

My fingers are soooooooooooooo sore!! - I just rigged up my EB6150 pedal to answer a query on another thread and I found it hurts to play the guitar.

It'll take a few more weeks but I'm very happy so far especially as a guy at Thursday's gig would bite my hand off to buy it off me!!! ( he has the OLP version)

OK - here's an update on my project.

Almost all the paint has been removed and overall (considering the gamble) I'm pleased with the results.

I may try and do a repair to the mystic dream using a Paint chip removed from one of the cavities. The repair is only about 10 mm square. Gonna take some advice from a pro first.

I need to buy some of those magnifying visors from Maplins tomorrow (on special offer) as the soldering on the PCB's on the JP 6 is fiddly and I don't trust my eyesight. I'm hoping that by the weekend I can post some pics showing my progress.

That white painting was such a poor job
