Well after much debate and experimentation I've decided to strip back my JP6 which was refinished in white.
Here's a shot showing the MD colour in the cavity.

Here's a shot of the headstock that I managed to resurrect

There are some dings on the body and there's not much I can do about them- but remember this guitar was relatively cheap - it would be great to get it back to it's original colour.

So wish me luck guys - it's gonna be a labour of love!!

Pictures as it progresses will follow.

Bewilders me why if someone was going to refinish the guitar in white why they wouldn't strip it to the wood and then paint it.

I think you should have it refinished properly in a really nice colour.

spud, you and your misleading thread. Tease. :p

Good luck sir, I'm sure it will turn out great. Was this move inspired by Morbid's restoration thread?

That's a big job you’ve given yourself there spud.
Such a shame it was sprayed in the first place, should look great when it's finished .

Looking forward to the next batch of pics

The headstock was one thing, the complete body is a whole new 'ball' game :p

Good luck and keep the pics coming

Imagine my disappointment when clicked on this thread and all I found were pictures of a JP guitar!

Looks like a fun project Spud. Will you be REVEALING more in the future?

Actually I was thrown askew by the thread name as well. I thought he was pulling a Dizzy but dressed like Keeley Hazell.
