Guitars are just "stuff". Things which give us some sort of "service".

If you have it standing and it no longer provides the service required, then it is time to move. Hoarding it makes you unable to buy other stuff which can render the service needed much better...

Yeah- I have an ESP Ec series that was given to me by my parents right before I got my 20th. I used it maybe twice for a youth worship service and that was it. I have it at my parents house but have no intentions to play it or sell it because it was a gift.

I struggle with the selling of the 20th because I know it's an incredible guitar and fulfills that thicker tone range I can't get with a silo spec SSS. So the struggle is to keep it and have it there for the few times I need it or replace it with a silo spec and make it and HH.
It a journey

Exactly.. Well if you do decide to part with it a AL HH would be a amazing replacement! I love mines.. I have a silo30 but judging from how awesome and amazing that one is I can only imagine SLO EBMM one is.. This will probably be my next EBMM piece but I'm really anxious to feel the armada at NAMM! :)

I see ur point.. But much love and respect and memories go into a lot of the pieces I have so I dare not to even try.. I hear songs on the radio that I've worked on and I can remember exactly what piece I used and it triggers a memory sometimes find or sometimes not so awesome but never the less it built me and made me what I am. I can only speak for my self thou.
I have currently 15 pieces at home (electric guitars) and this my occupation. I play 4-6 sometimes even 7 gigs a week here in Hawaii and have been for 17-18 years since I returned from LA where I attended musicians institute in Hollywood. It's how I feed myself and my son. In a way I think I'm leaving him a legacy that he can hold on to after I pass away also. Music has been a part of his life since he was born. He's now 11 and finally taking major interest in it all. But for myself I wouldn't think of it as hoarding. That's out of the questions. Honestly there's only 6 of the 15 that I don't use somehow. I own a recording studio so sooner or later something will call for a certain tone or sound. The other 9 that I use pretty often are all from lines I am a artist endorsee for amazing companies like EBMM, SBMM and Michael Kelly Guitars. And they all hold a special position for me and what I do. So Hoarding no! :) building some special yes! :) much aloha
