So I could not wait and ordered a Big Al SSS in Cabernet based on Ed's review and mad props here. Should be at my GC by mid week next week. I have looked around and can't find a pic of a BA in this color. Is this a limited or discontinued color? Anyone got any pics of one. I got a rosewood board and am psyched nut I am going on blind faith alone. Its coming from the Union Square, NY GC. If anyone had played that one it would be great to hear some impressions as well. Someone soothe the GAS please. I am thinking of a single H to go with it if it is half the bass I expect it to be but that is another thread...

Peace,

T

They had one in the Boston G.C. about 6 months ago. It was a beautiful color! I almost bought it but knowing the 5 strings were coming out soon I held off. I don't have a pic but the best way I can describe it is that it's a very deep candy apple red color. It's not a bright candy red but more of a dark color wine but with pearl essence to it. It's very classy. Kubicki's had a color very similiar and they called it Burgandy Pearl if you can find a pic of one on the internet. The one at G.C. in Boston had a black pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard. I think you will like it. And it is a rare color. Hope this helps and good luck.

Discontinued. My favorite EBMM color ever, too bad.

Mine too.

I would have loved to have ordered a Big Al 5-H in Cabernet with a matching headstock, Rosewood fretboard and black pickguard. But it's just not available in this combination.

Yep. All of the cool new colors that were introduced (ice blue, cabernet, orange mist, etc) were discontinued before I had a chance to order either a Big Al 5 or a Reflex 5 in them.

Hopefully something new and interesting will be announced at Summer NAMM. Otherwise, I guess I keep waiting.
