Just made a deal with Brad from The Pit to trade for my Bongo...both ship out tomorrow (Seattle <---> San Mateo).

I hadn't given the dual-H SR4 much thought, but this may very well fit in tone-wise with my upcoming new band's sound, and will show up just in time for the audition Friday (I already have the job...just a meet-n-greet).

Thats a pretty dark honeyburst, almost looks like tobacco burst.

Anyone else see this? Just seems to me that the older honey bursts from the 90s seem a lot lighter around the edges.

That may just be the way Steve's camera catches it...my TransGold Ray isn't as dark as the indoor shots turned out.

Lighting is everything in photography.

Very true,I hope the recent honeybursts are just as nice as the older ones because If and when i ever get another ebmm,it probably will be honeyburst.

Its probably just the lighting. Look how dark the fingerboard looks -- almost like ebony. I have a 2004 honeyburst SR4, and it looks just like all of the other honeybursts you see.

The fingerboard is actually pretty dark for rosewood, check it out compared to the one on the left. I think that EB does some of the very best bursts out there, and they are quite consistent. Here's my '89 Ray and the '06 HH Ray that'll head to James tomorrow. The '89 is just a hair more yellow in the center of the burst but it's super close.

I'm looking forward to my first single H Bongo 4 James!

Same sentiment here, Brad!

I love this shot of both basses...I'd have to say w/out sounding like a kiss-ass that EB/MM finishes are about the best in the business, and better ones don't come to mind quickly!

BTW ~ if one of you guys has a Black SR4-HH pickguard you want to swap out for this one, let me know via PM.

I just traded my Bongo H/S/P for a H/H SR and I am so happy i could plotz.I have noticed that the bridge pickup soloed is louder (considerably so) than any of the other positions...is this normal? It makes switching during live performance a little tricky.I have programed a step up in volume on my multieffects for the other positions, I just have to remember to hit the button for certain songs. As some of you may know , I play in an ABBA tribute band...most(or at least some) of their hits were recorded on a stingray...when I plugged my new bass in and played along with the record....WOW!..."thats the tone"!!!
