Does anyone know what type of pots are on the sport (straight shaft or spline)? I want to order cream Fender style knobs for it like the ASS has.

You will love the black guard.I have a dark green sport..HSS..it had a cream guard..I changed it to a black one..the result was like when a slightly homely girl puts on the warpaint...instantly sexy..pics in a month..

David, those chrome knobs look really classy; keep them! Check out my tobacco burst, mine is the one on the left. The one on the right belongs to fellow forumite,T-Show:

I agree. The chrome knobs do look good but I like having numbers or some kind of marker so I know where my volume is. Now maybe if I could find the chrome ones with a line or something on them that would work.

I'd like to see some pics of that. Sounds like it looks great.

Lol. Perfect reply Tollie.

I would so love to find a volume knob that actually has the number 11 on it Ozzy.

What's all this black guard talk?!? I thought the clear guard is one of the coolest things about this guitar when I saw it on eBay. Just saying…

LOL. I'm not a fan of clear guards on anything (no offense to the Morse guys). I think the black guard will make the finish pop a little more.

It's on the truck for delivery today. Guess what I'll be doing the second I get home from work? I told the wife not to expect me at the dinner table.

I received the Axis Sport yesterday and wow what a great guitar. The neck has a different feel than my LIII (more round) but it just as good in a different way. There was no need to get used to the feel. It felt like I'd been playing it all along. The pickups are phenomenal and compliment my LIII sound well (a little more raw and more bite).

Much to my surprise there was a black guard in the case! I put it on and I think it looks much better (pic below). The wear on the body doesn't look nearly as bad as it did in the photographs. I think I'm just going to leave it as is (mojo and all). The finish has more of an Orange tint to it in person which makes it look really unique. I also found out from EBMM customer service that it was built on Halloween day 1997. Because of this and the color my 11 year old daughter decided it should be named "the pumpkin".

Good choice. I think it looks great as-is. The change over the the black pick guard definitely looks a whole lot better.
