Hi everyone. I finally get a smooth neck strat type guitar. I have played MM's for 30 years at stores but never pulled the trigger for one. I got a swingin' deal on a 6 month old one.

Is there any upgrades, different wiring, different Pick Ups, trem setup procedures.... or anything I can chew on until it get here this labor day weekend?

Love the design and materials. The lower frets than my Tom Anderson Atom and 2014 PRS CU22 should be nice for my old fingers. I love to slide chords, double and triple stops on some good ol tunes.

Mine has 24 frets I hope I like it (wish it had 22).
Looking to have my luthier setup the trem floating (with 9-42 strings).

I like the fact that the PU's seem to be low output. Love chimey cleans and utube showed that.
I play Fender flavored tube amps, Tone King Meteor 20 with an airy, large cabinet.
Along with Fender 6L6 amps.

Any OD pedal that would match that for general classic rock to boosted treble leads? No metal here.....
If there are any mods please let me know.

Take out the neck and middle pickups, throw a Burstbucker or TV Jones in the bridge and voila you have a Solo-uette...the ultimate single bridge pickup guitar.

Or keep it stock. But that doesn't really allow you to surf the net for great pickup ideas.

Funny I love Burst-buckers and I love TV Jones. I have a classic and a Classic plus. The BB's sound so good in LP's . I had two standards but sold them because I can't hang with 9.5 lb guitars anymore. From what I gather on the net the darkish, lush BB's don't sound the same in other designs.

The single PU recommendation..Hmmm.. Possibly my Classic plus sounds potentially fruitful???
The lush twang with the fine EBMM wammy, that actually stays in tune. Hmmm....

Where is the best resource for silhouette pick guards, blank and loaded?

I wonder if anyone else put the classics or TV's DeArmond with the huge poles, or a Supertron neck ?

I love my Fulltone OCD overdrive pedal with fender tube amps. It's just a great sounding pedal that is really versatile. Sadly I sold my Princeton reverb to get my Silo Spec, but the combo should be killer with your set up. Also, leave the guitar how it is until you bond with it. When I got the silo spec I wanted to change pickups right away... Now I kind of dig the stock set.

You won't find an loaded aftermarket pickguard from a shop or store. It'll be in the classifieds here, or Reverb/eBay etc. As was mentioned, Pickguard Heaven will have the guard by itself.

As for what a TV Jones bridge will sound like...I suspect like a Cabronita. Both have alder bodies, same scale length. You'll get tonal variations, but it'll sound like a TV Jones pickup.
