We are just getting hold of the Krank Revolution Jnr head and 1*12 cabs.

Apparently the cabs are superb and well worth looking into - UK retail is £200 so that probably equates to $199

+1 for avatar cabs. I have nothing wrong to say about mine and at the price they sell them, I don't think you can find a better deal.

I don't know if that qualifies as cheap, but for an amp I would look into a THD univalve. You can find those for a little over 500$ on ebay this days. 15 watts, single ended class A, and self-biasing for an inifinite variety of tone.

If you're in the States a Traynor 1x12 (the wine-red version featuring a Celestion Vintage 30) with an increased internal volume may be a fair choice with a good sound. I tried one here in Germany (branded "Yorkville" over here) and really loved how it sounded.
I have had a 6 watts handwired head for some time and ran that through a custom made 1x12 cab with a Celestion G12T-75 that scooped some of the really dominant mids the head issued. Nice choice, too - especially as those G12T-75s come really cheap nowadays...

new, used or vintage? maybe try Traynor .... a word of caution, some of the older cabs from the 70s can weigh a ton.

Lyndon laney is a great guy, they make the best stuff, if you don't mind buying used - you'll get a used marshall 8412 - 4x12 but 1 person can lift 'em... used for a bout £99

Wow those avatars are a steal! I'll be getting one of those when I get a good head for sure!!!

Make sure you watch the deals on the bay that the factory runs. I got two 2x12 cabs loaded with speakers, one open back, one close back. FOR A STEAL! Brand new factory direct. When I called in to pay, the guy said that I got the cab for what they usually sell them un loaded. Great product/company/packaging, etc.

Oh and BTW look at THD univalve or Bi vlave amps. Very versatile, put any tube you want in it. Got my Univalve used with a pile of tubes, case, and yellowjacket. Might sell it as I got a new H&K Switchblade on the way. Let me know if you are interested at all.
