Info about Axis

Hello all, new to this forum and I was wondering if people with Axis could help me out. Finally got some cash saved up and I really want an Axis. I think I can only afford a used one right now. My questions are the following:
A) How low can I get the action to go? Are we talking about 1/16" or even lower? I read somewhere online in order for the Axis to get low action, you have to shim the neck, is that true?
B) How thick is the neck? I've been to a lot of stores, but no one carries the Axis. I remembered playing one in a store years ago, and the neck kind of felt strange because I was so used to thin necks (I have a '91 Carvin DC400c and '95 DC127c).
C) I have been looking on Ebay, how much is a fair price for a good condition Axis?
D) Anything else I should know about these beauties?

Ill try to answer this to the best of my ability

A) the action can go very very low it comes stock with the low action also i believe you only need to shim when you need to raise if I'am ccorrect there are little metal inserts to raise the floyd. tho i know no exact measurements i know it can get low and will play awesome.
B) The neck is one of the best i have ever felt it is thinner than a Gibson and all around feels awesome. Not to fat not to think also its unfinished so it just plays like a dream.
C) Alot of them go for about $750-$900 USD which id say is pretty fair price i would also recommend checking out www.wildwestguitars.com
and www.dubaldomusic.com he is a forum member with some decent prices and i know he is selling a black axis new for a pretty fair price
D) Play em Hard thats the way they like it

Try using the search function to locate what you might be looking for about the Axis. They are great guitars and chances are you ?'s have already been answered.

Keep your eyes open here sometimes members post when they are selling an instrument.

It has a 10" radius so you aren't going to get "shredder" action out of it without fretting out on bends. But the action is quite low by most standards.

The only way to lower the action on the Floyd Axis is to shim the neck. It comes from the factory with a shim in the neck already. So you'd just ad a (very) slightly thicker shim if you wanted the action lower than the factory set up. But from the factory, they probably have it set about as low as it will go for the time being. I had to shim my EVH over time in order to get the action back where I wantd it.

It's a roundish neck but not clubby at all. The fretboard by the nut is fairly narrow so it gives the neck the illusion of being clubby but it really isn't. It's a great neck but might be too narrow for large hands.

On my Super Sport, the string height is about 2-3 / 64ths at the 12 fret with a capo at the first fret. Neck is dead straight. Plays great.

Thanks for the replies. I reside in Queens, New York. I've been to a couple of Guitar Centers and Sam Ash but no one carries them. The only things I have played are the OLP varieties just to see if the body shape would fit me. I am curious, are the necks on the OLP the same as the Axis? I read somewhere the OLP radius is actually 15. Anyhow, I thought it was a pretty good neck. This is the only reference that I have to compare to.
