Would the factory do it? If not, what luthier would do a reliable job and where would I get another H pickup? Thanks

Appreciate that. Thanks.No.
There are lots of competent luthiers, but you have to understand that you are simply throwing money away by doing this.
You will have a very difficult time finding another MM pickup, so that means aftermarket. And, that means the pickups will look different and sound different. You will have destroyed the resale value of your instrument and will have a difficult time getting anything close to the going rate for a used Stingray, let alone recoup the money you spent on getting the new pickup.
You will save money in the long run if you simply buy an HH and sell the H that you have now. If the bass you have now is too special to sell, it's too special to butcher, too.
But, it's your bass, do it if you want. I'm all for mods, but this one seems like throwing "custom" money at a problem that can be resolved cheaper in other ways with better results.
This is sort of weird I realize, but a gentleman whose bass I'm likley buying (non-EBMM) was interested in said Ray as a trade option if said mod was doable. My thinking is in line with everyone else's, but I thought I'd ask.I see you already have a Sabre... so why do you want to do some gory things to your 'Ray?
