Good decision on the Big Al. I am still impressed every time I pick up my alder Big Al 4.

Since abalone is discontinued, you may want to think about pickguard heaven for anything possibly out there.

You may like to check out black oyster pearl, diamond ice or leopard for something more "special".

Hey, I see you have a 2009 Big Al SSS Olive Gold / Gold swirl.
I really like that color ....have seen it on Bongos on One of the bass store sites....Bass Central I think?
Would love to have that color scheme on a Big al!!
Got any pics to post up?

Another german, rosewood neck.
The angled surface of the upper body gives some fancy light effects

Me too, thanks..
And WOW you use a Cerwin Vega BG-250 head?
I had a minty one of those back in my 80's band days.
It was red and black with an EQ in the middle...really bad assed head....

I need to change my siggy. :D

I still have the head but it phases in and out of some weird crossover sounds so I replaced it with an SVT450. I still have the cab and was thinking about adding an 8x10 but I haven't played in any stadiums lately so there's no hurry. ;)

Yeah... for some reason the wild funkiness of pickguards like that really seems to work well with the angularity of the Big Al shape. That's why I went with the Tiramisu (aka Orange Swirl) for mine.

Looks awesome!! I really like the vivid colors on the Big Al and Bongo bodies!

Ah ha!
Well either way I recall that head being a monster for me when I used to play gigs with it mid 80's...played it through a HUGE SUNN 412 cabinet that had the speaks recessed in a way that horns normally are...that cab was nearly as big as a fridge...hahaha!!
.I also used an ampeg V6B head then too..with matching V6B 215 bottom....both were great rigs....

Still like the tone control and reliability of my modern day GK 700RBII however :)

The White Pearl Big Al showed up on the big brown truck yesterday. :hyper:
This is one sweet bass.
The white pearl and pearloid look great together. The maple board and neck are a really pale shade which is awesome.
Plays like a Dream.
Grand Central Music in Minnesota set it up near perfect and it arrived that way.
Sooooo.... Sold off a beautiful bass to get one...guess all is even :D

You need to get a white linen suit, white nubucks and a white tie to go with that.

I have this urge to go have a vanilla milkshake for some reason....

hmmmmm maybe huh?
Although white makes ya look fat , right? :D hahaha!
She is pretty White...But I like it...one fine bass!
The albino Al
This bass might have looked cool on Morgan Freeman when he played God in that Jim Carrey movie :D

If big poppa happens by this thread, Can ya pleeeeeeeease give the nod allowing True Gold to be available on Big Al's.
I really would love to have a Big Al in true gold with matching headstock.
And in a perfect world with an ebony fretboard.
Would order one today if it were an option.
Thanks kind sir...lol :)
PS, Olive gold would be sweet to be able to order in as well :)

Love the Big Al's but haven't played one yet. One day though, one day...

I THINK, I might be hooked on these things?
Loved the look of them since day 1...
Finally bought one without ever playing one.
Loved it...bought a 2nd..different board.......and would honestly order a third with Ebony IF I could get it in one of the colors I like and with an ebony board.
Maybe someday? :(
